September 30, 2012 – Branson – Silver Dollar City and Old Town Branson

This afternoon, we carpooled with Dave and LaDonna to

take in Silver Dollar City,

a theme park and entertainment venue with rides (which we avoided),

scores of craft exhibitors of all sorts and types,

Artists,

Music performances,

Demonstration of cowboy skills,

 Western cowboy poets,

A burlesque-type western “production”, complete with fights, shootouts and humor,

  Relics of years by-gone,

A theater with square, Texas tow-step and line dancing,

Although these kids were far-and-away the attention-getters

And a fascinating assortment of visitors and employees of the park.

From there it was off to Andy’s Frozen Custard

For a dish of the best ice cream in town!

Then on to “Old Town” Branson where a world famous Five and Dime Store remains popular as Branson’s answer to South Dakota’s Wall DrugAnd the home of the Branson Scenic Railroad.

The Landing, is a newer section of Old Town with is pedestrian shopping walkways,

Beautiful, programmable fountains,

And where music plays non-stop during the day and where a very talented young girl appears to have all the moves and, while dancing to the beat and just for herself, demonstrated why she’s go the potential to star on DWTS several years from now!

Further along The Landing, we stumbled across a talented rock band.

Amazingly we learned that the singer was only 12 and the drummer just 10!
