This afternoon, Tom Briggs and I played golf at Mission Valley Country Club in Venice under the best weather conditions we’ve had since getting to Florida; clear blue skies, temperatures in the mid-70s, a light breeze and, most important, low humidity! Meanwhile, Debbie, Tom’s wife Sharon, and one of Sharon’s dearest friends, Lisa spent much of the day browsing any number of stores in the Venice area!
Then dinner at
in Nokomis along the Manatee River
Tom, Sharon, Lisa, Dick and Debbie
with Pelicans soaring swiftly by overhead
and an alert black-crowned night heron hovering nearby for any scraps which might fall form a diner’s plate.
