April 6 – 7 – Sarasota to Hilton Head

We left Sarasota on Sunday morning for Jacksonville.  Unfortunately, not much in the way of interesting things to see along our route of travel

Today, we ventured north into

WELCOME TO GAand then 112 miles further on into

WELCOME TO SCfinally ending up in Hilton Head, SC where we’ll spend the next three days visiting with my cousin, Bob, and his wife, MJ, and possibly looking up some neighbors who lived across the street from us more than 40 years ago.

Nearing Hilton Head and once we arrived at our campground, we knew spring had truly arrived, although perhaps not back home.

Out beyond the marina’s gazebo, we suddenly noticed two ships passing by under power.  It turns out that these are the replicas of the Pinta and the Nina, two of Christopher Columbus’ ships which we actually toured in Naples last winter.
