April 12, 2010 – Canyonlands

Frankly, we did not have high expectations for Canyonlands.  It is a national park you view from the rim, as with Bryce.  However, we were simply blown away with the spectacle which awaited us.

More balancing rocks:

A monolith reminiscent of Yosemite’s Half Dome:

Both curving roads and straight stretches penetrating open range land on which cattle have as many rights as drivers:

And … spectacular vistas,

 

 such as those of the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers.
