March 10, 2010 – Still Having A Great Time at Manatee Springs

We awoke to a beautiful, and for a change, warm, morning and were soon greeted by three grazing deer who were not at all intimidated by humans in close proximity.

We took a walk on one of the many nature trails and then along the raised wooded walkway which borders the stream from the Manatee Spring to the Suwannee River.  From there we were treated to a parade of Carp, Gar and Mullets and Turtles

as well as a family of three Manatees, although catching them above water is near impossible.

The drive to the Gulf Coast town of Carrabelle, FL as uneventful and we are now just 50 yards from the water with only other RVers and lots of gulls for company.

Tomorrow were headed further west and hope to make the four hour trip between what are predicted to be heavy rains … which have already started!
