August 14, 2014 – A Day in Houghton, MI

Today was one of frustration …trying to figure out how to solve the mystery of my coach steps … which seem to have a mind of their own, extending (while driving down the road) and retracting (when trying to use them at a campground) at will with no realization of the potential consequences.

Aside from a shopping run to Wal-Mart and running a couple of other errands, we sat … although it was not all that bad given our beautiful campsite along the Portage Canal!

Sheriff Towing a Sailboat, Portage Canal, Houghton, MI - 2014-08-14We speculated that the owner of the sailboat clearly had a major problem … either because his boat had suffered a mechanical or rigging malfunction or his predicament might have been caused by some “cargo” he might have been carrying aboard!

This evening we watched the sunset from our “patio”.
