For the past two weeks, we’ve been luxuriating in sunny to partly cloudy weather with temperatures ranging from the high 60os in the early morning to the high 80os to low 90os by late afternoon.
For our friends and family who decide to spend the winter in northern climes, we’re “sympathetic … especially those in southeastern Pennsylvania where the combination of snow and ice have both left many without power and some with substantial property damage!
One afternoon, while we were playing gin rummy, we heard the sounds of bagpipes and discovered that it was coming from in front of the coach directly across from us. For the rest of the week, we were treated to Bob’s playing each afternoon.
The highlight of the past two weeks revolved around a replacement of our Jeep windshield which had been badly damaged in Arizona. It was actually fascinating to watch a pro do the job,
which took less than 45 minutes from the time he arrived until he was finished, cleaned all of the vehicle’s windows and was on his way.
In addition to the regular activities at our Motorcoach resort … free Continental breakfasts and newspapers every Monday through Saturday … Margareta Mondays at the pool, which Debbie loves as the drinks and nachos are complementary … a Tuesday morning biking group I’ve joined … Wednesday night Trivia (our table seems to have a lock on second place) and dancing …a Cribbage group on Thursday afternoons for me while Debbie is taking water Zumba … and Friday night Meet and Greet, with complimentary wine, beer and enough hors d’ouvers that there is no need for dinner, and more dancing …
Debbie is going to a Jazzercise class three days a week, I try to swim a mile pretty much every day and have also taken a couple of golf lessons and purchased some new clubs (the real test will be next Tuesday when I play for real).
As it is Valentine’s Day (special for use as we were engaged 49 years ago today), there was an annual dinner-dance this evening.
